Melissa Zafarana is a classical artist and fine art instructor who paints in oils, watercolor and pastel. She grew up just outside of Detroit and graduated from University of Michigan with a BA in Theater and Drama and headed out to Los Angeles. She worked in film, television & commercials for a few years and simultaneously began to draw and paint under the tutelage of her mentor, fine art painter Larry Gluck.
Melissa is a passionate instructor who thrives on the joy of seeing her students blossom! She has now taught literally thousands of children & adults to draw and paint for over 20 years at Mission: Renaissance Fine Art Studios. She has trained instructors to teach the Gluck method in their 20 different studios around LA and Orange County. She is also the instructor on The Art of Drawing for Kids and The Art of Watercolor for Kids instructional DVDs for children which have sold all over the world. She has sold and exhibited her own work thru numerous venues and has done many private commissions.
Her greatest works of art are her two daughters and she lives with them & her husband in Silverlake.
